I have been waiting for this game for quite a while. I was hoping for the game to be on PS3 with great graphics like Ratchet and Clank. Then when I found out that Naughty Dog was not producing this game I had a feeling the game would not be as good and I was right. The graphics are OK for the PSP, but lacking for the PS2. The story line is OK. The camera is not very good. No first person view. I’m not enjoying this game as I did with past games. I hope Naughty Dog will reclaim J&D and give us the great games we have come to expect.

Let me start by saying I’m a big fan of the “Jak and Daxter” series, and I have been since the first installment in 2003. When I first heard the news of a sequel to the fantastic, trilogy ending “Jak 3″, I was both shocked and ecstatic! But when I heard the news it was coming to the PS2 and PSP I began to worry about the direction of the series. Then I saw the trailer with the stupid plane, and I knew this was going to be a letdown. But I bought it anyways, thought maybe I should give it a chance, I was wrong.
Graphics: 7.0 – The graphics are subpar (even worse if you’ve ever play “GOW: Chains of Olympus”), and the evironments are cliche and seem more like “Insert Fantasy World Here” then innovative or attractive.
Gameplay: 6.0 – The gameplay is stale and needs tweaking. Combat is fun, but it’s far too simple and enemies are far too easy to beat. And for some very very dumb reason they got rid of guns for a staff, and they threw out upgrades completely!
Sound: 5.0 – The sound is good, but who buys a game for sound these day? Boring music and even worse sound effects can be heard throughout the game with nothing new to offer except maybe repetition.
Replay Value: 5.0 – Little to none thanks to the fact it was quite boring the first play through, and there’s nothing new the second time.
Storyline: 7.0 – I won’t give anything away, but let’s just say there’s nothing earth-shattering about this poratable letdown’s storyline.

Final Verdict: 6.5
